Easter Kids Game: Egg & Spoon Race

Easter Egg & Spoon Race

Springtime is here and those Easter family get-togethers are coming up. Use this time to plan out the Easter family parties carefully with Easter goodies and games. The egg and spoon race is a classic game that can be taken to the next level on Easter.

Materials Needed:
*Spoons
*Colored hard-boiled eggs. You can substitute this for plastic candy-filled eggs if you are hosting the event indoors.

*Optional: Team Markers

Place the colored Easter egg on the spoon of each participant. Once you confirm that everyone is ready, start the race with a countdown or a “Ready…Set…GO!” With this signal, everyone must get to the finish line as quickly as possible without dropping their egg. The first one to cross the line with the egg still on the spoon wins!

Easter Egg & Spoon Race

Want to play with teams? Place 2 cones or, perhaps, Easter baskets on opposite sides of the finish line. Divide everyone into 2 teams and ask them to stand in single file lines behind the starting line opposite of their team’s cone. Place a colored egg on the first two participants spoons and provide the other players with their own spoon. Begin the race with a “Ready…set…GO!”at which point the first player in each line will race toward their team’s marker at the finish line, circle around it, and rush back to transfer the egg into the spoon held by the next teammate. Continue the process until the first team completes the course.

If you like, you can let anyone who drops an egg continue to race, but have them go back to the starting line to restart their run.

Pass out some Easter goodies at the end. After all, everyone is a winner!
